Ismael Najera is originally from Mexico and came to the United States 20 years ago to join his family. He began working at Palace Restaurant under Bruno Pertusini. After the restaurant was sold, he moved to Osteria D’Assisi, where he continued working with the same team. Not long after, he became a sous chef and worked closely with Fabrizio Ventricini from Rome, Italy, for many years. It was during this time that he developed his talent and passion for Italian cuisine. He continued learning under several chefs, building upon the culinary foundation introduced to him by Ventricini and other chefs from Lake Como, Italy. Through this experience, he also learned to speak Italian. Ismael has also worked with Chef Christian Pontiggia, gaining additional techniques and sharing his knowledge with upcoming chefs. He has been leading successful kitchens for many years and continues to bring excellence to Italian cuisine.
