Margaret Wood
Author, Gardener, Poet
Margaret Wood grew up in the Midwest then moved to Northern New Mexico in 1977. She worked as a companion for Georgia O’Keeffe for five years, later inspiring her to write A Painter’s Kitchen: Recipes from the Kitchen of Georgia O’Keeffe and the memoir, Remembering Miss O’Keeffe. A few years later, she earned a master’s degree in speech pathology, working through PMS Home Care in Santa Fe. For many years, Wood and the Santa Fe School of Cooking have collaborated on the class “Cooking Inspired by Georgia O’Keeffe.”
Wood enjoys sharing stories about her time with Miss O’Keeffe. She is a gardener and poet, practices Tai Chi and QiKung, and delights in cooking with home-grown vegetables and herbs.
