Rooted in Place: Indigenous Cuisine & Storytelling
Experience an inspiring culinary demonstration celebrating the traditions, stories, and evolving expression of Indigenous cuisine through the perspectives of three acclaimed voices in Native American cuisine: Jack Strong, Lois Ellen Frank, PhD, and Walter Whitewater.
Through live cooking, storytelling, and conversation, guests will explore how ingredients, landscape, and cultural heritage continue to shape Indigenous food traditions across generations. Blending ancestral knowledge with contemporary culinary perspectives, each chef will share dishes and techniques that reflect a deep connection to place and the enduring power of food to preserve and celebrate culture.
The experience will be complemented by thoughtfully selected wines presented by Michael Bowles, Field Sales Manager for Vine Connections. Throughout the demonstration, Michael will guide guests through the featured wines, offering insight into the selections and how they pair with the flavors, ingredients, and culinary traditions being showcased. Guests will also have the opportunity to engage with Michael and learn more about the wines and producers represented by Vine Connections.
This immersive demonstration offers a unique opportunity to experience Indigenous cuisine through flavor, history, and conversation while exploring the connections between food, wine, culture, and place.
