Artist of the Year: Jim Jennings 🎨

Jim Jennings, our Artist of the Year, is celebrated for his evocative landscapes of the American Southwest. Based in Santa Fe for the past three decades, his work is deeply shaped by the region’s expansive skies and high desert terrain. Jennings is known for his large-scale, surreal cloudscapes, often featuring chamisa and the occasional rabbit that blend realism with a dreamlike sense of atmosphere.

He earned his BFA in Graphic Arts from North Texas State University and spent over twenty years as a graphic artist before turning his full focus to oil painting. Influenced by artists like Maynard Dixon, Victor Higgins, Robert Daughters, and Vincent van Gogh, Jennings has exhibited at Acosta-Strong Fine Art in Santa Fe for more than a decade.
