EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, NEW MEXICO CHILE ASSOCIATION
Kari D. Dominguez serves as the Executive Director of the New Mexico Chile Association, where she advocates for and represents the interests of the chile industry across the state of New Mexico. With a strong foundation in agricultural economics and hands-on industry experience, Kari brings both strategic insight and grassroots knowledge to her leadership role.
A native of Deming, New Mexico, Kari grew up immersed in agriculture and rural life. She currently owns and operates SJKM Show Animals, a small sheep and goat operation alongside her three siblings and parents, continuing her deep-rooted connection to farming and livestock. Her early involvement in youth agricultural programs such as 4-H and Future Farmers of America (FFA) played a key role in shaping her passion for the industry. She participated in numerous county, regional, and state fairs and career development events, gaining firsthand experience in animal husbandry and agricultural competitions.
One of Kari’s proudest accomplishments was being part of the New Mexico State University National Agri-Marketing Association (NAMA) Team, which secured the National Championship title in 2023—a testament to her leadership and marketing insight.
Kari holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Economics and Agricultural Business from New Mexico State University, with minors in Business Administration and Range Science. She completed her Master of Agriculture degree in 2025, specializing in Agribusiness, further deepening her expertise in the economic and managerial aspects of agricultural enterprises.
Through her role, education, and personal experience, Kari continues to campaign for New Mexico agriculture with dedication, knowledge, and a commitment to the future of the industry.
