CEO, ROMBAUER VINEYARDS
Robert (Bob) is a seasoned senior sales, marketing and strategy executive who comes from a 35-year career in the general aviation industry. He became a trustee and founding Board Director at Rombauer Vineyards in 2002; and succeeded the Company Founder in an active leadership role in 2015. Prior to Rombauer, he served as Vice President, North American Sales at Embraer Executive Jets in Florida (2011-2015); Vice President, Sales with Bombardier Flexjet in Texas (2003- 2011); Vice President, U.S. Sales with Cessna Aircraft Co. in Kansas (Citation Division, 1993-2002); Beech (Raytheon) Aircraft Co., and Gates Learjet.
Bob’s passion for aviation, and for fine wines, prompted him to participate in and support numerous wineries in philanthropic events, including Auction Napa Valley, the Naples Wine Auction, Auction of Washington Wines, Classic Wines Action, and other wine auction events and tastings around the country. “There are many similarities between the two industries, particularly amongst our customers”, Bob says. “You’re talking about people who are both accomplished, and discerning; who are quality-oriented, with a sincere passion for craftsmanship.”
It is his deep understanding of this customer, as well as his experience in all aspects of business, strategic planning and people management, that Bob has applied to his role at Rombauer. Bob also brings a deep and abiding respect for high-integrity, family-owned companies that remain true
to their Founder’s principles. “Koerner & Joan Rombauer set our course for the past 43 years, and we are delighted to know that, with the full support and stewardship of the Gallo family, we will continue to demonstrate our relentless commitment to quality, and customer focus. We work every day to become a more polished team, to make beautiful wines and provide world-class hospitality. We find great joy in doing this together.”
