Katixa Mercier

WESTERN REGIONAL MANAGER, BOUTIQUE WINE COLLECTION

Katixa Mercier started her career over 18 years ago as a sommelier in fine dining; curating and managing award-winning programs in New Mexico. In 2010, Mercier started consulting for beverage programs and local restaurants that quickly evolved into curating for boutique hotel groups to private collections nationally.

In 2015, Mercier was approached by a small wholesaler, Favorite Brands, and offered a sales route. She accepted and quickly climbed the ranks. In 2019, she was promoted to Wine Portfolio Manager and Sales Manager. In 2021, a French importer, French Libation, offered her a position that would transition her career from sales and distribution to a supplier role in importing.

In 2022, she was approached by importer Boutique Wine Collection; a portfolio focusing on indigenous varieties from the eastern hemisphere. Running sales for the western half of the United States, Mercier is a polyglot and interprets all producer meetings overseas, is on the brand development and acquisitions team and is the right hand of ownership.

In addition to a career in wine, Mercier is a mentor with Bâtonnage Forum, a collective of women wine professionals from all sides of the industry offering mentorship to women in the industry seeking to find their way in and up. Mentoring with Bâtonnage for four years, she was nominated and appointed the program lead of mentors for Sales and Distribution in May.

Mercier lives in Kansas City with her fiancé.
